LinkedIn overhauled its Contacts app last Thursday, according to Mashable, in order to make way for the new and improved standalone app, Connected.
Milestones–like work anniversaries, birthdays and new jobs–are front and center in the Connected newsfeed, allowing the user to congratulate and keep in touch with their contacts. (Hint: This is a good way to keep the channels of communication open for potential clients.)

LinkedIn found that most users open the app for a few minutes in the morning, so the company repurposed the app to focus more on updates you may want to see before heading off to work. Each update appears as its own card, and users can swipe left and right to toggle between new and old updates.
