Today we released pending sales numbers for April 2011. The number of single-family homes and condominiums put under agreement were up from March. This is the third straight month-to-month gain.
On an annual basis, pending sales of both single-family homes and condos were down compared to the same time last year. In terms of comparing April 2011 vs. April 2010, we need to keep in mind that April 2010 was the last month to put a home under agreement and qualify for the 2010 home buyer tax credit. As a result, April 2010 had the most homes put under agreement in any one month since MAR has been tracking this data.

Here are the highlights:
- Single-family pending home sales were down 24.2% compared to April 2010
- Single-family month-to-month pending home sales were up 5.1% from March 2011
- Condo pending home sales were down 27% compared to April 2010
- Condo pending month-to-month home sales were up 1.6% from March 2011
