Mass. July home sales hits ‘baker’s dozen’ with 13 straight months of increases

Today we released our July 2012 sales report and for the 13th straight month sales have gone up compared to the same time last year. Both Single-family and condo median prices also went up compared to July 2011. (see graphs below – click on them to enlarge).

We also wanted to let you know that REALTORS in Massachusetts and across the country support the recent announcement by the Federal Housing Finance Agency that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are issuing new and clear short sale guidelines. Highlights from the release:

* Single-family home sales were up 22.7% compared to last year
* Single-family median prices were UP 1.9% ($325,000)
* Condo sales were up 23.1% compared to the same time last year
* The median price for a condo was UP 4.2% ($300,000) compared to last year
