Doug Azarian Receives Massachusetts REALTOR® Distinguished Service Award

The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® announced today that Doug Azarian, a broker at Kinlin Grover Real Estate in Falmouth, has been named recipient of the MAR Milton H. Shaw Distinguished Service Award for 2014.

First awarded in 1984, the Milton H. Shaw Distinguished Service Award is presented annually to one REALTOR® member or staff executive who has demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities and volunteered countless hours of personal time to serve on state association committees and participate in MAR activities.

A REALTOR® since 1987, Azarian is former MAR President in 2007 and has been a member of the MAR Board of Directors since 1999. He is currently the chair of the MAR investment Committee, an interim trustee of the newly formed REALTOR® independent expenditure political action committee, and a member of the finance committee.

In recent years Azarian has served on the MAR Building Task Force, Electronic Forms and Technology Committees. In addition, he has served or chaired numerous other committees and work groups over the years.

On the national level, Azarian was the 2012 National Association of REALTORS® Region One Vice President and is a current member of the NAR Board of Directors and Finance Committee. He has also served on the Nominating, Business Issues, Multiple Listing Issues and Policies Committees.

At the local level, Azarian has served as president of the Cape Cod & Islands Association of REALTORS® in 2001, and has chaired or been a member of numerous committees over the years. He has been honored twice as the Cape Cod & Islands REALTORâ of the Year Award, first in 2002, and again in 2003.
