The MAR License Plate initiative just received media attention! Paul Yorkis was recently interviewed by the Worcester Telegram on behalf of the benefits of a specialty plate for charitable fundraising. He isn’t alone in his efforts though, state Rep. Jeffrey Roy, D-Franklin, state Sen. Karen E. Spilka, D-Ashland, are sponsoring legislation to allieviate some of the difficulty in qualifying for a specialty plate. Jeff, Karen, and Paul all realize that passing legislation to lower the required minimum number of plates would be a benefit to any charitable group trying to raise money for their cause. This would be particularly beneficial for groups like the Massachusetts Elks and Girl Scouts who have been unable to meet the minimum requirement.
